5-10 mins walk to Sg River where the excitements begin.
Immediate vicinity is boring. Like an almost dead town. Escalator to the hdb estate opposite is out of service.

Enjoyable Staycation @ Village Residence, Clarke Quay
1. Very friendly & helpful reception staff. Mr Nuruddin was very efficient with the check-in & check-out, and went beyond to provide extra services like printing & scanning documents, where to find supermarkets, etc. 2. Comprehensive facilities with two televisions & more than sixty TV channels to entertain you, a full kitchen for cooking & washing clothes, a beautifully decorated bedroom, etc. 3. Very clean & comfortable with excellent housekeeping. 4. Very good location for eating, shopping & buying foodstuff. Bus stop just in front, very convenient. 5. Will return for future stays, or look out for more of similar Village Residence hotels.

What was the highlight of Village Residence Clarke Quay by Far East Hospitality
Overall very good
A comfortable, clean and very well equipped apartment. Good bed and bedding, and good quality linen and towels. Plentiful hot water and good water pressure in the shower. The staff both at reception and at breakfast were friendly and helpful and their English was good. Location is dependent on what you want to do. We found the buses at the stop just around the corner very useful. The MRT station was a bit of a walk in the heat of the day and we usually needed to change to the Downtown line so it wasn't as convenient. It was an easy walk to Clarke Quay with lots of bars and restaurants. The breakfast is quite simple but perfectly adequate. The pool was sensational: very large and spotlessly clean.
More shade/umbrellas are needed around the pool and it would be nice for that to be a non smoking area for the health of guests. The carpet in the bedroom is due for replacement. It was worn and stained in places. The shower was clean but there has been a build up of mould over time, as happens in tropical areas, and treatment of that would be good.
